Custom Pet Portraits
Looking for the perfect gift? Consider a custom pet portrait! The specifications below are for dogs and cats, but if you have a more unusual pet, please reach out and we can chat!
Pet portraits are painted done by hand in acrylic gouache on 140 lb paper, either in a 5x7" or 8x10" size.
What I need from you:
- Three clear photos of your pet in good lighting.
- The name, breed or general description, and any details of the pet that you want to capture in particular (quirks, special markings, collar details etc.)
- What size of finished product you would like.
- If you want to feature more than one pet in one artwork piece; specifications for how you would like them to appear.
- When you would be planning to gift this artwork (or timeframe you would need it by).
The process:
- I will respond to your email within 3 business days (please fill out my contact form or email hello@chuonthisstudio.com with your request).
- Once the details are confirmed, I will ask for a 50% deposit of the total cost.
- I will send you a sketch/outline so that you can approve the direction for the illustration.
- Once the painted artwork is complete, you'll receive a digital proof via email. If you have any final suggestions, I can make one final round of adjustments if feasible (for example: adding a few hairs or spots to one side of the face would be possible; changing the overall colour and texture would not be).
- Once approved, I will send you an invoice for the remainder amount.
- I ship the finished product to you or your loved one! Illustrations will be packaged in an acid-free plastic sleeve with a hard card backing.
The cost:
- 5x7 portraits: $200 CAD for one pet, plus tax and shipping
- 8x10 portraits: $230 CAD for one pet, plus tax and shipping
- If you are interested in a multi-pet portrait, a more complex illustration beyond the pet head and shoulders (dogs and cats), or having the pet portrait turned into a digital product or greeting card, please email me and I will provide you with a quote and options.
